A nationally recognized architect and design leader, Jay brings more than 30 years of experience to his role as Principal and Design Director in the Gensler Phoenix office. Serving as Design Director, Jay has collaborated on projects throughout Arizona and the Southwest including academic, civic, cultural, office, athletic, and research facilities. He applies his specialized expertise in large-scale, technically intricate projects, with responsibility for establishing the direction of the design, image, character, and environmental quality of the projects he leads. He is known for creating design solutions that embrace local context and are sympathetic to the survival of the unique Sonoran Desert environment. Jay serves as a guest architectural critic and lecturer and has been published in numerous national publications. A registered architect, Jay earned a Bachelor of Architectural Science from Florida A&M University, as well as a Bachelor of Architecture and Master of Architecture from the University of Arizona, Tucson.
